Do I need an Architect, a Drafter or an engineer for my Los Angeles garage conversion?

Very often before converting your Los Angeles garage you will wonder who you will need to hire to begin the actual conversion. Each homeowner will have a different answer or opinion on who to start with for some it is the contractor or remodeler for others an architect and for some a drafter or engineer. There is no wrong answer but to help you decide you first need to understand each role they play in your Los Angeles garage conversion.

For passing inspections for house remodeling, you can contact our trusted partners Los Angeles Home Remodeler.com. Before you pass inspection for anything you will need architectural designs, our sister company also provides does here Architectural Designs.com.

The first step to your Los Angeles garage conversion is getting blueprints or floor plans created for your project. You need these to take to the permits and licenses offices to show what you mean to do and obtain the right papers. For this, the architect, drafter or engineer will do. You can use any of the three to create your blueprints, they all do the same job and use the same software, a CAD program. The difference will come with a price. It is best to shop around and ask a few places or individuals to find one in your respective budget. Also, look at reviews and ask about their track record for approvals, this is important as you do not want to spend the money on someone who does not have a track record or a great one. At this point, you will not need a contractor. A contractor can be hired after you have your blueprints and permits for the project but if you hire a contractor early but cannot get approved you will waste money.
