How much will it cost me to convert my 2 car garage or build an ADU from the bottom up in Los Angeles?

Converting a garage is going to cost less than building an ADU for the bottom up in Los Angeles. If you have a garage and are fine with losing the space a garage conversion would be the easiest thing to consider. If you need your garage or parking space or simply do not have a garage then an ADU could be built.

Usually, people ask if whether or not an attached or detached garage will affect the building process and price.  It does it is simply a remodel, the same as doing a basement or any unfinished room. Typically in Los Angeles, it will cost you between $50,000-80,000 to do a total garage conversion. The final price will come down to a few things like what kind of space you are planning on using it for and the materials you used. The better quality the materials the higher price tag.
